Terms of Use

Studio Field is companion software for working with OP-1 field hardware and related creative workflows — for example browsing device content over USB, managing a local library, creating backups, optional iCloud sync, Workspace projects, community features (Tape Club, Forum, and Messages), and related tools described in the apps.

Features may differ between platforms (Android, iOS, macOS, Windows). We may add, change, or remove features as we develop the product.

Studio Field is an independent product of Lithium ehf. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Teenage Engineering.

OP-1 field and related marks belong to their respective owners. Lithium ehf. does not claim ownership of those marks.

You are solely responsible for your devices, files, and creative content. Before any restore, delete, install, sync, share, or other operation that writes to your OP-1 field or changes local, iCloud, or community data, make your own independent backups of everything you care about.

You must use the Service only in accordance with applicable law and these Terms. You must not attempt to disrupt the Service, abuse contact channels or community features, or reverse engineer the apps except where mandatory law permits.

You are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple ID and iCloud settings if you enable sync features, and for the Google or Apple account you use for community features.

Tape Club lets you optionally share tapes from your Library with other Studio Field users, preview community tapes, save copies into your Library to remix, comment, and report content.

Forum lets you start and reply to discussion threads with other members.

Messages lets you exchange private 1:1 messages with other members. You may block peers you do not want to message.

Use of these features requires a unique @username and Sign in with Google on Android and Windows, or Sign in with Apple on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The same community account applies across Tape Club, Forum, and Messages on that sign-in method.

You may only upload, post, or send content you have the rights to share. You must not upload or send unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, pornographic, or otherwise inappropriate material, or content that violates others’ privacy or intellectual property.

By uploading or posting to Tape Club or Forum, you grant Lithium ehf. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, and distribute that content solely to operate and improve the community features (including previews, CDN delivery, moderation, and — for Tape Club — Library saves by other users). You retain ownership of your creative works. Other users may download Tape Club copies you share into their own Library; those copies are under their control once saved. Private Messages are hosted only to deliver them between participants and for moderation if reported.

Community content is provided by users, not by Lithium ehf. We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, legality, or availability of any shared tape, forum post, comment, or message. Use community content at your own risk.

Reporting and moderation. Users can report Tape Club posts and comments, Forum threads and replies, and Messages in the app. We may review reports and remove content, delete messages or posts, or block accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community. Authors may delete their own content. Blocking and removal decisions are at our reasonable discretion.

Account and data deletion. From My profile in the app you can permanently delete your community account. Permanent deletion removes your Tape Club uploads and comments, Forum threads and replies, Messages conversations you participate in, your @username, profile photo, and the related Google or Apple auth for this app. Confirm with Google or Apple when asked. You can also use studiofield.app/delete-account. Deletion cannot be undone.

We may suspend, limit, or discontinue community features or any account if needed to protect the Service, comply with law, or address abuse.

Studio Field can read from and write to your computer, your OP-1 field (when connected), and — if you enable them — your iCloud sync features and community uploads or messages. File transfer, backup, restore, rename, delete, pack install, community upload/download, and similar operations carry an inherent risk of corruption, incomplete transfers, or irreversible loss.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LITHIUM EHF. IS NOT RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, CORRUPTION, ALTERATION, OR UNAVAILABILITY OF DATA, FILES, RECORDINGS, TAPES, BACKUPS, LIBRARY CONTENT, DEVICE CONTENTS, COMMUNITY UPLOADS, MESSAGES, OR SETTINGS — WHETHER ARISING FROM USE OF THE SERVICE, HARDWARE OR CABLE FAILURE, USB OR MTP ISSUES, USER ERROR, SOFTWARE BUGS, INTERRUPTED TRANSFERS, ICLOUD OR APPLE SERVICE PROBLEMS, THIRD-PARTY HOSTING, OR ANY OTHER CAUSE.

You use the Service at your own risk. Keep separate backups outside Studio Field. Lithium ehf. has no obligation to recover lost data.

If Studio Field or related services are distributed through the App Store or other storefronts, additional terms from Apple or that storefront may apply to download, purchase, and refunds.

Community authentication uses Sign in with Google on Android and Windows, and Sign in with Apple on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. You are responsible for that account. Any paid features we offer will be described at the point of purchase.

The Service — including software, design, branding, and website content — is owned by Lithium ehf. or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service.

Your own recordings, tapes, and other creative files remain yours. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate features you use (for example processing files locally on your device, syncing via your iCloud account when enabled, or hosting and distributing content you choose to share on community features as described above).

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

We do not warrant that USB connectivity, backups, restores, sync, community features, or any other feature will be uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free, or that data will never be lost or damaged.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LITHIUM EHF. AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE — INCLUDING COMMUNITY CONTENT SHARED BY OTHER USERS.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED EUROS (€100), EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

The studiofield.app website may include demos, documentation, and a contact form. Do not submit unlawful, harmful, or abusive content. We may ignore or delete abusive submissions.

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on studiofield.app and updating the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.

We may suspend or discontinue the Service or your access if you breach these Terms or if we need to protect the Service or other users.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Iceland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts of Iceland have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence provide otherwise.
